[00:00:05] Tradition.
[00:00:07] Tradition.
[00:00:10] Bradley Sharpener here we possible podcast YouTube channel Thursday Thunder. A little thunder coming to you here live from Bayonne in the southwest of La Belle France.
[00:00:22] Hey, I've got one word today, tradition. So in a minute, you are going to see, in fact, I'm on a quiet street because it gets a little hairy. It gets a little wild and crazy here. Getting out of control. We're going. Tell me if you see a white shirt and a red hat anywhere, you know, white shirt, red hat, let me know. White shirt, red scarf, maybe this entire town is in white and red. I have never seen anything like it. I've never seen this sort of dedication to tradition. Let me see if I can give you a little bit of the feel of it here across the river there. And you see the white and the red, even the awesome awnings, white and red.
[00:01:07] It's amazing. It's the fete de Bayonne. It's this basque, pei Basque. The basque region or basque country here in southwest France or northeast Spain. And it's all the basque region. I'm gonna walk through this. It's just a sea of white and red. I don't know, I'm just amazed at tradition. I'm just, I'm impressed. I'm enthralled. I'm overjoyed. It's just fun and crazy and wild, and yet it's calm and peaceful and joyful at the same time. It's going to let you enjoy the white and red for a moment.
[00:02:39] But how about a little of that, huh? How about a little of tradition?
[00:03:38] There you go. There you have it. A little tour of bayonne in France in the middle of July 2024 for a little feel of what it's like when an entire city, an entire region of a country, even two countries, come together and just celebrate all together. All the shops are closed in the entire city for like three or four days. There's parties, there's music, there's drinking, there's eating. It's just crazy happy people, just nonstop. And it's just kind of amazing to witness, to be a part of. We're just happened to be in the neighborhood and we came by and we have no idea what it's all about, but we're enjoying it. And I have to say, I am envious of the history, of the culture, of the tradition that I know nothing about. And I don't want to say I, well, I envy it. I envy it. I will leave it at that. And I will. Then I was going to turn right, but I think I'm not going to go down that way because there is a wall of people.
[00:04:45] So what are traditions in your life, or in your family, or in your culture, or in your country, or where you're from or where your family comes from? What are some traditions that maybe you can hold on to, even if you think they're, they're cheesy or silly or old fashioned? I mean, how long has this been going on? Don't know. And yet, that's the beauty of it. And I'm saying this, you know, often my Thursday thunders and my possible podcasts are often, it's a message to myself, as I am a big believer in writing and creating for yourself. If your audience is you, then think about that for a moment. You are your number one fan. You are your number one sales team and marketing team. You're the buyer and the seller. You can't lose, really, the only way you can lose is when you're your own harshest critic.
[00:05:40] So lay off the criticism, enjoy the party, and go back to traditions. Fall back on traditions from what you know, or if you don't know them, go learn about them. Educate yourself on the histories of where you're from and where you come from, or where your family comes from. And if you don't know where your family comes from, find a family that you can adopt to get some of that, to have more of that, to enjoy that, to relish it and celebrate it and celebrate these people. This city has closed down for three or four days, and this is it. This is all that happens. There's music and dancing and festivals, and it's like 02:00 p.m. i don't think things are yet very wild, but maybe later. I mean, everybody's drinking, so I think they're going to be having a good old time here. Sorry for the wind. I'm going to slow things down because of the wind. And I will call it a day here from, from Bayonne. If you're ever in the southwest of France in the middle of July, come on by. It's really quite something special to witness and to sort of be a part of. Although I am clearly a tourist, because I am not in white and red, I'm sort of an orange and red, you know, variation. I'm trying, I'm trying, but I'm here. I'm out of the door. I'm out of my house. We were gonna stay home today and not do much, and we decided to come here and really relish the beauty. So here we go. One last view for you from Bayonne. Enjoy the view.
[00:07:10] I'll walk you across the bridge and let you enjoy this last bit. Oh, check out to the left, across the bridge. I'm going to give you one last view here of the sea.
[00:07:21] Wow.
[00:07:23] Enjoy.
