[00:00:01] The year of you starts today.
[00:00:06] It's January.
[00:00:07] January 1st. In fact, it's the season where the Internet promises we can be rich, ripped and retired in 30 days.
[00:00:16] Strangely, February has a very different opinion.
[00:00:21] So let me be clear right up front. This is not one of those videos.
[00:00:27] No detox, no dopamine hacks, no million dollars. By Monday, what I am going to talk about is the boring stuff that actually works.
[00:00:38] And I'm saying that on January 1, from San Antonio, Texas, with family, while coughing like I'd been smoking two packs of cigarettes a day, which, to be clear, I have not.
[00:00:51] I actually wanted to record this because I don't feel great today.
[00:00:56] Here's something I have noticed over time.
[00:00:59] I feel pretty great most of the time.
[00:01:02] And I think many people don't feel pretty great most of the time.
[00:01:09] A lot of people walk around feeling heavy, physically, emotionally, mentally. And they assume that's just how life is.
[00:01:19] It's common, but it's not normal. You don't have to feel amazing all of the time, but you also don't have to feel crappy most of the time.
[00:01:30] If you feel off, tired, heavy, stuck in your head, there's nothing wrong with you. You're just running a fragile system.
[00:01:41] And I think this is why New Year's resolutions fail.
[00:01:45] They're trying to capture the entire year at once.
[00:01:50] Twelve months, one decision, one giant promise.
[00:01:53] That's a lot of pressure.
[00:01:55] Years don't change. Years.
[00:01:59] Days change. Years and days are built out of habits.
[00:02:06] Small, repeatable, often boring habits.
[00:02:11] Now, let me be clear about rules here. I am not the hero of this story.
[00:02:16] You are my job. What I actually do is act as a guide.
[00:02:23] Someone who's been down this road enough times to say, here's where people usually fall off and here's how to avoid that.
[00:02:30] Because most people don't fail due to lack of motivation.
[00:02:34] They fail because their plans are fragile, built on excitement instead of structure.
[00:02:42] Big goals, big January energy, big promises.
[00:02:47] And then February.
[00:02:50] Here's what I know works. And yes, it's boring.
[00:02:55] I talk about daily, weekly and monthly rhythms all the time.
[00:03:00] I repeat myself. I harp on it, not because I'm out of ideas, but because it works.
[00:03:06] The sexy stuff gets attention. The boring stuff gets results.
[00:03:13] For me, the boring stuff looks like this.
[00:03:16] Daily meditation. Some form of creation, movement. Usually walking pep. Or twice a day, weekly. A simple check in, what worked, what didn't, what matters next.
[00:03:29] And a video to boot, like today's Thursday Thunder Monthly. A quiet reset, A big newsletter. Zoom out, adjust, continue that's it.
[00:03:40] Progress is the process and the system is the secret.
[00:03:47] Now let me add something even more important.
[00:03:51] This works even better when we don't do it alone.
[00:03:55] Not because we all need the same plan. We don't. In fact, we all have different plans. Your year of you will not look like mine. Different bodies, different goals, different seasons. We can work on it in parallel.
[00:04:10] Same rhythm, same commitment to daily, weekly, monthly habits, different lives, different paths.
[00:04:17] There's something powerful about knowing you're not the only one choosing the unsexy option.
[00:04:25] Let me offer a confession. Not as failure, but as data.
[00:04:31] The past nine weeks that I've been here in the us they've been rough on my health. I have gained weight, at least 10 pounds, I don't want to admit. But it's not just physical.
[00:04:43] I feel heavier, emotionally heavier mentally, creativity, creatively heavier too.
[00:04:53] And this matters.
[00:04:55] When your body feels heavy, your thoughts do too.
[00:04:58] And when your thoughts get heavy, creativity struggles.
[00:05:02] This isn't self criticism, it's self awareness.
[00:05:06] My body is giving me feedback. And feedback, if you listen, is generous.
[00:05:13] So I want to say this out loud clearly on January 1, 2026 is going to be my healthiest year ever.
[00:05:22] Not because I nailed a resolution, but because I'm committed to healthier days.
[00:05:28] Healthy body, healthy mind, healthy creativity. And yes, healthy finances.
[00:05:34] Because stress, scrambling and scarcity are not healthy states for me. Financial health comes from the same boring system.
[00:05:44] Daily creation, weekly review, monthly clarity, fewer better decisions.
[00:05:52] Calm money comes from calm systems.
[00:05:55] Now here's a little behind the scenes truth.
[00:05:58] I'm planning to publish a book called the Year of you on February 17th.
[00:06:04] And between now and then, I'll be running a Kickstarter around it.
[00:06:08] Here's the part I want you to hear.
[00:06:11] None of that is set up yet. It's January. It's January 1st.
[00:06:16] I'm in San Antonio, Texas. I've been with family. I haven't been working much the past weeks. And that's okay. Because this early January, this is exactly where daily habits matter most. Not perfection, not panic. Just practice.
[00:06:32] Here's the shift I'm making and the one I'm inviting you into.
[00:06:38] I'm not chasing success.
[00:06:39] I'm designing a system that makes failure harder. I'm not adding 10 new habits. I stack habits onto the ones that already exist.
[00:06:51] Same walk, slightly stronger body, same morning, slightly better alignment, same system, better results.
[00:06:59] And when we do this alongside others, quietly, consistently, imperfectly, it sticks.
[00:07:07] That's what I mean by the year of you.
[00:07:10] Not a resolution for 12 months, a commitment to better days, daily habits, weekly reflection, monthly perspective.
[00:07:19] Because a year isn't changed by motivation. It's changed by what you practice on ordinary days, especially after January.
[00:07:31] So here's my invitation. No pressure attached. I'm doing this with or without you. But if you want to walk it together, side by side, not step for step, you're welcome to join me.
[00:07:44] Create your own year of you.
[00:07:47] I'll be working on mine right alongside you.
[00:07:50] Or don't. Either way, I'll be walking the path because I can't do the work for you. But I can show you a way that works.
[00:08:01] I'm not trying to be rich, ripped and retired by February.
[00:08:05] I'm trying to build healthier days that quietly add up to a healthier year.
[00:08:11] Progress is the process.
[00:08:13] The system is the secret.
[00:08:16] And in 2026, the secret is the year of you.
[00:08:23] Thanks for listening and watching.
